Shannon is a Deputy Director at a public library near Chicago. She is a member of the library’s administrative team and leads the development and delivery of operations for Community and Circulation Services, Collection Services, Digital Services, Info Services, Programs & Exhibits, Senior and Accessible Services and Youth Services. Her experience includes library management as well as library programming, technology instruction, interlibrary loan and business and career librarianship. Shannon has been a presenter and trainer on topics related to organizational change, core competencies, leadership, social media, marketing, customer service, and library resources. Shannon received her Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from Dominican University and attended the University of Oxford for post graduate work in International Librarianship.

Shannon has served various roles with the Chamber of Commerce, including the Better Business Committee and Co-Chair and Advisory Member of the Professional Women’s Council. She served as Chair of the ILA Best Practices Committee (2018-2019), 2 years as a committee member of the ILA Awards Committee (2011-2013) and currently on the ALA Women in Librarianship Committee (2019-2021), and ALA BRASS Committee (2020-2022).
